What is "Pulse Community Edition?"
Pulse is a FREE product that gives Eclipse users the most effective and efficient way to locate, install and maintain multiple multiple Eclipse software profiles (configurations).
What is "Pulse Freelance?"
Pulse Freelance is an optional, value-add service for Pulse users that allows the addition of private or unlisted upadte sites to your catalog. You can include, for example, a proprietary plugin behind your firewall and still share your profile with other users. Freelance also allows you to provision your workspaces/preferences across teams.
More details are on the Pulse Freelance page.
How do I get it?
By clicking any of the "Get Pulse Now!" buttons on this site, or visiting the Download area.
Will it take a long time to download?
Not at all. The download footprint of Pulse is a mere 5mb to get started.
How do I install Pulse?
Pulse is an easy, one-click install. Just open the downloaded file with a double-click and you'll be guided through the process. No configuration worries, .zip files or wasted setup time.
Who created it?
Pulse was created and is maintained by Genuitec, LLC, the creators of MyEclipse. While MyEclipse is a commercial product, Pulse is free to the Eclipse community with no catch.
How do I get my software on the list?
Your products deserve to be seen by the broad Eclipse community. If you think your solutions are a good fit in the Pulse product catalog, please contact us here.
How do I share my Pulse profile?
If you can right-click, you can share. Just select the profile you want to share with other registered Pulse users, right click on it and select "share profile."
Why do I have to register to share?
The registration process is necessary to uniquely identify you, thereby ensuring that only you and those you trust have access to your shared profiles.
Is Pulse for Eclipse software only?
For the moment, Pulse addresses only Eclipse software and Eclipse-based solutions. Moving forward, you will likely see the ability to use Pulse with most types of software. But for now, Pulse is only for Eclipse.
Can I use it at home and at work?
Absolutely. By registering Pulse (which is free), you can access your profile from anywhere. There's no need to set things up just right at work and then labor to do it again at home. With Pulse, you create your profiles once, use them anywhere.
Will pulse work on my Mac or with Linux?
Yes. Both Linux and Mac support are available for Pulse. For a complete list of all of the installation options and supported OS platforms, please visit the installation options page.
Can I use Pulse when I'm not online?
Pulse is an online software delivery service so to access it (to install software) you must be online. However, all your software profiles are installed locally on your computer so you do not need to be online to run software installed with Pulse.
Can I use Pulse if what I need isn't in the catalog?
Yes you can! While we continue to add to the catalog, we realize that
you may want features that are not included yet. If you are using Pulse 1, go ahead and create a
profile that's close to what you want and launch it. Once running, you
can add your custom features using the standard Eclipse update manager.
Your local additions will be included whenever you run the configured
profile.
The easiest way to accomplish this task however, is with Pulse 2.2's "Pulse Freelance." Freelance allows you to add your own plugins, public or private, to your profiles and share them with other Freelance users. Freelance is only $6/month per user or $60/year per user for even more cost savings.
Is my login/password information secure in transit to the servers?
Yes, the Pulse client uses SSL for all communication with the Pulse server.
What will Pulse look like going forward?
Pulse is an evolving product, with many new features being added regularly. A detailed vision/road map can be found on the Road Map.
What if I still have questions?
