and efficient way to locate, install and maintain multiple
Eclipse software profiles (configurations). The free version is fully customizable and free ofr individuals.
What is Pulse "Freelance Team Edition?"
Pulse Freelance Team is an optional, value-add service for Pulse users that allows your teams or entire corporations to share software profiles, workspaces preferences and settings. This is the easiest way to synchronize teams without any hassle. Best of all, it's only $6/month per developer (or for even more value, $60/year). No more breaking the build due to incompatibility hassles. More details are on the Pulse Freelance Team Edition page.
What is Pulse "Private Label?"

Customizable corporate branding and messaging are all included.
How do I get it?
By clicking any of the "Get Pulse Now!" buttons on this
site, or visiting the Download area. For Pulse Private Label information, please contact us.
Will it take a long time to download?
Not at all. The download footprint of Pulse is a mere 5mb to get
started. From there, you can manage only the software you need.
How do I install Pulse?
Pulse is an easy, one-click install. Just open the downloaded file with a double-click and you'll be guided through the process. No configuration worries, .zip files or wasted setup time.
Who created it?
Pulse was created and is maintained by Genuitec, LLC, the creators of MyEclipse. While MyEclipse is a commercial product, Pulse is free to the Eclipse community with no catch.
How do I get my software on the list?
Your products deserve to be seen by the broad Eclipse community. If you think your solutions are a good fit in the Pulse product catalog, please contact us here.
How do I share my Pulse profile?
If you can right-click, you can share. Just select the profile you
want to share with other registered Pulse users, right click on it and
select "share profile." Sharing and team sync features are part of the Pulse Freelance Team Edition value-added service. You will be prompted when you attempt to share that you will be beginning a 30-day trial of Freelance Team.
Why do I have to register to share?
The registration process is necessary to uniquely identify you,
thereby ensuring that only you and those you trust have access to your
shared profiles. Sharing and team sync features are part of the Pulse Freelance Team
Edition value-added service. You will be prompted when you attempt to
share that you will be beginning a 30-day trial of Freelance Team. Of course, we also need your contact information to manage your subscription.
Is Pulse for Eclipse software only?
Currently, Pulse is focused on providing the ultimate distribution and management platform for all types of Eclipse-based software. However, we've already added the ability to manage Java JRE's and will continue to increase Pulse's ability to work with most types of software in the future.
Can I use it at home and at work?
Absolutely. By registering Pulse (which is free), you can access your
profile from anywhere. There's no need to set things up just right at
work and then labor to do it again at home. With Pulse, you create your
profiles once, use them anywhere. Your registration is used only to store your software "recipe," allowing you to access it from anywhere.
Will pulse work on my Mac or with Linux?
Yes. Both Linux and Mac support are available for Pulse. For a complete list of all of the installation options and supported OS platforms, please visit the installation options page. Additionally, you can use your login to cross OS types. Create your profile in Windows at work, load it up on your Mac at home.
Can I use Pulse when I'm not online?
Pulse is an online software delivery service so to access it (to install software) you must be online. However, all your software profiles are installed locally on your computer so you do not need to be online to run software installed with Pulse.
Can I use Pulse if what I need isn't in the catalog?
Yes you can! While we continue to add to the catalog, we realize that you may want features that are not included yet or are specific to your needs. To build your tool profile exactly how you'd like it, begin by selecting a base profile and adding everything you'd like from the catalog. Once that's done you can customize your profile further by adding software from any update sites you'd like. Finally, if you happen to use plugins that don't have update sites you can utilize Eclipse 3.4.x's useful "drop ins" directory. Pulse will remember any additions you make by any method you choose and include them on each profile launch.
If you want to take your customized profile a step further, you may look into Pulse's "Freelance Team Edition." Freelance Team allows you to easily share your profiles, preference sets and workspace configurations with other Freelance Team users. Easily eliminate "new guy setup syndrome" by automating team synchronization. Freelance Team is only $6/month per user (or $60/year per user for even more cost savings). It's the best way to keep your teams on the same page.
Is my login/password information secure in transit to the servers?
Yes, the Pulse client uses SSL for all communication with the Pulse server.
What will Pulse look like going forward?
Pulse is an evolving product, with many new features being added regularly. A detailed vision/road map can be found on the Road Map.
